Hero Alam gets permanent bail in ex-wife’s case

Finally, content creator Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam has been granted permanent bail in the case filed by his ex-wife Riya Monir. Today, Wednesday (January 21), Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman’s court ordered bail after hearing the case. Hero Alam himself confirmed the matter to the media.
Earlier, on June 23, 2025, Riya Moni filed the case at the Hatirjheel Police Station in the capital on charges of attempted murder, assault and intimidation. Then, on November 12, following the application of the plaintiff’s lawyer, Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman’s court ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant in the name of Hero Alam. Finally, the content creator has been granted permanent bail in that case. In this regard, Hero Alam said, “Finally, I have been discharged from the case. All the allegations in the case were actually false. I want to forget everything and move forward.”
Meanwhile, he withdrew from his position at the last minute after deciding to contest from the Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. Initially, he had collected nomination papers from the ‘Ama Janata’ party. But Hero Alam’s participation in the elections became uncertain as the District Commissioner and Returning Officer did not accept the forms by the last date for submission of nomination papers. However, on January 12, the Appellate Division of the High Court ruled that the fears had been dispelled, but he later announced his decision not to participate in the elections.
