Squid Game Now in Hollywood
South Korean popular thriller series ‘Squid Game’. There will be no new season. But good news for fans of the series. The series is now coming in an American English version. Earlier, there were only rumors about the American version of this series. However, it is now known that the plan is final. The shooting of the series will begin early next year. Sources said that the creator of the original series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, and the famous director David Fincher will be involved in the project.
According to the Film and Television Industry Alliance (FTIA) website, the shooting of ‘Squid Game: America’ will begin on February 26 next year. The main shooting location has been set in Los Angeles and California. Director David Fincher will serve as the main director of the project. The original creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, and Partsman Studio CEO Kim Ji-yeon will be associated with him as producers.
Details of the project have not yet been officially announced. It is reported that it will be made as a spin-off. Not a retelling of the original story. It will be based on parallel events to the Korean version. The series will show cultural changes and how the games are being run from an American perspective.
Previously, actress Cate Blanchett made a cameo in the third season of Squid Game. This hints at the transformation of the main character Gong Yoo. It is assumed that she will also participate in the Western version. Although there has been no official announcement from the director, the information published on the website is almost certain. According to the shooting schedule, the project could be released around Christmas 2028.
