Popular actress’s decomposed body recovered from flat

Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar died mysteriously on Tuesday (July 8). Her body was recovered by police from a flat in the Defence Housing Authority in Karachi. The death of the 32-year-old actress has created a mystery. It is believed that her body had been lying in the flat for two weeks. South DIG Syed Asad Raza told Pakistani media that the body of Humaira Asghar Ali was recovered from a flat in Ittihad Commercial, Phase-6. Police said in a statement that the body has been identified as that of the actress and that she died two weeks ago. On the orders of a local court, the Gijri police reached the spot to vacate the flat. At 3:15 pm, when the police knocked on the door but got no response, they broke the lock and entered and found Humaira’s body. After that, the police crime scene unit was called to the spot to collect evidence. Police officials further said that the model had been living alone in the apartment for the past seven years. She rented the flat in 2018, but reportedly stopped paying rent in 2024. The landlord filed a case with the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) for non-payment of rent. On Tuesday, a court-appointed bailiff came to enforce the order and found her decomposed body inside the flat. Police officials, quoted by Samaa TV, said that a mobile phone found in the house was registered in the name of Humaira Asghar. Evidence suggests that the flat was rented by actress Humaira Asghar. A magazine with her picture was also recovered from the apartment. To confirm the identity, the police asked for the record of the national identity card attached to the mobile SIM registered in her name. Later, they confirmed that the body belonged to actress and model Humaira Asghar. The police recovered the actress’s identity card. It is worth noting that Humaira Asghar Ali participated in Ariana Television’s reality show ‘Tamasha Ghar’ and also acted in the 2015 film ‘Jalaibi’.
