Unidentified woman’s body recovered from the footpath of Dhaka University’s Salimullah Hall

Police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman from the footpath adjacent to Dhaka University’s (DU) Salimullah Hall at Shahbagh Police Station in the capital. The deceased is estimated to be 60 years old.
The incident took place on Tuesday (August 4) at around 10:15 am. Upon receiving information, Shahbagh Police Station quickly reached the spot and rescued the woman unconscious from the footpath of Salimullah Hall. Later, she was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead after conducting tests.
Shahbagh Police Station SI Liton Ali said that upon receiving information in the morning, the woman was rescued unconscious from the spot. Later, she was quickly taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors said that she was no longer alive.
He also said that the identity of the woman could not be known even after talking to people around the scene. The body has been kept in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Efforts are underway to identify her with the help of technology. At the same time, the legal process to uncover the true cause of death and confirm the identity is ongoing.
