Trump calls Iran’s response ‘totally unacceptable’, what’s in it?

Iran has sent its response in response to the US proposal to end the war with Pakistan. However, US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s response. He said, ‘I just read the response sent by the so-called representatives of Iran. I don’t like it – it’s totally unacceptable.’

Meanwhile, Tehran has reacted strongly against US President Donald Trump for rejecting Iran’s latest proposal. The country’s semi-official news agency Tasnim quoted a source as saying that in response to Trump’s criticism, Iran said, ‘Nobody in Iran plans to please Trump.’ The source also said that Iran’s negotiating team will prioritize only the country’s national interests. So let’s find out what is in Iran’s response—

Demand for lifting blockade and oil export ban:

According to Iranian media, Iran has demanded the lifting of the naval blockade and the ban on the country’s oil exports. Tehran has also called for the lifting of US sanctions on Iranian oil sales within the proposed 30 days. The proposal also calls for the complete lifting of all sanctions and the release of Iranian assets frozen abroad.

Ceasefire in Lebanon:
Iran’s response also includes a ceasefire in Lebanon. Al-Mayadeen TV, which is close to the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, reported that a ceasefire in Lebanon is one of Tehran’s “red spots” in the talks. Iran has said that clear guarantees must be given to reduce tensions in Lebanon. At the same time, it has insisted that any agreement announced must immediately end the fighting.

Tough stance on the Strait of Hormuz:
Iran has also demanded recognition of its sovereignty and control over the Strait of Hormuz. State broadcaster IRIB reported that Tehran rejects any framework that weakens Iran’s control over the strategic waterway. The first phase of talks will focus on ending the war and ensuring maritime security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Nuclear program:
“The main goal of our response is to stop the war in the entire region, especially in Lebanon, and to resolve differences with Washington,” an Iranian official told Al Jazeera. He said Iran’s response included a proposal to discuss the Strait of Hormuz, its nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions.
However, the Wall Street Journal reported that Iran’s response did not meet US demands regarding its nuclear program and its stockpile of enriched uranium. Iran has reportedly offered to dilute some of its enriched uranium and send it to a third country other than the US. It also demanded that the uranium be returned if the talks collapse or Washington withdraws from the deal in the future.
Iran has agreed to temporarily suspend uranium enrichment, but for less than 20 years. At the same time, the country has refused to dismantle its nuclear facilities.

30-day talks proposed:
Iranian media reported that Tehran has proposed 30 days of talks to finalize a comprehensive agreement after the ceasefire. The proposed document also mentions some reciprocal steps to test the US’s sincerity. It is known that during this period, talks between the US and Iran on the nuclear issue will continue.
An Iranian official told Al Jazeera, “Our response is realistic and positive.” He added, “If Washington responds positively, the talks will move forward quickly. Now it is the US’s turn to make a decision.”
IRNA reported that Iran’s response has been sent to Pakistan for mediation. Iranian media reported that for now, the talks between Tehran and Washington will continue in written form through Pakistan.
