The verdict in the case of shooting and killing a young man hanging from a cornice in Rampura and killing two others has begun

The verdict in the case of shooting and killing Amir Hossain while hanging from the cornice of a building in Rampura in the capital during the July Uprising has begun. This Sunday (May 28) morning, the judicial panel of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 began reading the verdict. Which is being broadcast live on BTV.
The accused in this case are former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former ADC of Khilgaon Zone Md. Rashedul Islam, former OC of Rampura Police Station Md. Mashiur Rahman, former SI of Rampura Police Station Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan and ASI Chanchal Chandra Sarkar. Except for Chanchal Chandra Sarkar, the remaining 4 accused are absconding. A total of 13 people have testified in this case.
The state party filed a formal complaint with the tribunal on August 7 last year. On September 18 of the same year, the tribunal framed charges against the accused and began the trial. The state claimed that the charges in the case had been proven through evidence. The maximum punishment is expected. The lawyers for the accused have appealed for their clients’ acquittal.
