Thalapathy Vijay’s TVK to form government with support from Congress-Left

Popular actor and politician Thalapathy Vijay’s party Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is forming the government in Tamil Nadu, India. Basically, they are forming the government with the support of Congress and Left parties CPI and CPM.
Yesterday, Friday (May 8) afternoon local time, Congress, VCK, CPI and CPM extended support to TVK. As a result, the deadlock over government formation in Tamil Nadu that had been going on for the past four days has ended.
Thalapathy Vijay’s party TVK won 107 seats in the elections. However, the magic figure of 118 seats was needed to form the government in the 234-seat assembly. Thalapathy Vijay finally became the Chief Minister after the DMK and AIADMK agreed to settle their differences and form the government in an alliance.
