SSC examinee hacked to death after entering house

A SSC examinee named Nahida Akter (16) was hacked to death after entering a house in Dhamrai, Dhaka. The brutal murder took place in the Lakuriapara area of ​​Dhamrai Municipality at around 8 pm last Thursday (April 23). Police recovered the body that night and sent it to the Suhrawardy Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police arrested a suspect in the incident on Friday.
The deceased Nahida was appearing for the SSC examination this year from the commerce department of Dhamrai Central School. The deceased’s mother, Leeza Akter, is an expatriate and her father lives in Barisal. The student lived with her grandmother and studied.
Dhamrai Police Station OC Nazmul Hossain told Jugantor that 4-5 people, including the housekeeper, have been questioned after reviewing CCTV footage and various movements. However, one person has been arrested and brought to the police station. Without complete certainty and without recovering evidence, nothing can be said definitively for the sake of the investigation. However, he is hopeful that the accused of the murder will be identified and arrested very soon.
According to local and family sources, Nahida was studying at Akhtar’s house in the evening. Her grandmother went out to get milk at around 8 pm. An hour later, she returned home and found Nahida lying on the floor in a bloody state and the entire floor was soaked in blood. Someone entered the house and hacked her with a sharp weapon and fled. The grandmother of the deceased said that the girl had gold jewelry on her neck and ears; they had disappeared.
She was quickly rescued in a bloody state and taken to the Gonoshasthaya Samaj-based Hospital in Savar, where the doctor on duty declared her dead last night. On receiving the information, Dhamrai Police Station visited the scene. There were marks of sharp weapon injuries on the neck and head of the deceased. However, it is still not certain what the reason or who committed the murder. The police are investigating the murder.
