Prime Minister joins World Economic Forum program

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined the World Economic Forum program on the third day of his China visit. He is expected to deliver a speech at 12 noon local time.
After completing the program of the 17th anniversary Summer Davos Forum in Dalian, China, the Bangladeshi head of government will travel to Beijing by bullet train. He will participate in various programs there. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman plans to meet ministers at various levels and heads of multinational companies in China in the next three days. During the current visit, he will also hold separate meetings with the Chinese President and Prime Minister.
At least 17 memorandums of understanding in various sectors are expected to be signed in the upcoming meeting. In addition, China’s financing and cooperation in the construction of Teesta and Padma barrages will play an important role in the talks. At the same time, discussions may also be held on the construction of the second Padma Bridge. However, the process of purchasing 24 fighter jets from China for 40 million US dollars may be completed during this visit.
