Prime Minister has an opportunity to establish ourselves in a country free from fascism by learning from the past

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that the country belongs to all of us. An opportunity has been created to establish ourselves in a country free from fascism by learning from the past, not by practicing the past. He said this at the International UN Peacekeeping Day program at Senakunj today, Wednesday (June 10). The Prime Minister said that the sacrifice of the martyrs as members of the UN peacekeeping force will be a shining example not only for Bangladesh, but also for anti-war and peace-loving people.
He also said that for four decades, the armed forces have been the name of trust and reliability. They are a symbol of the country’s honor and courage. An all-out attack was launched on the armed forces in 2009. The army should come forward to form a sovereign state by learning from the past, not by practicing the past. Besides, the role of the army was enormous in the Liberation War. He emphasized on technology dependence in the changing geopolitical equation.
At the same time, the Head of Government said that the active participation of women members in the UN peacekeeping force has undoubtedly added a new dimension. I firmly believe that the participation of women members will continue in the coming days as well. Earlier, the Prime Minister presented awards to the families of 6 peacekeepers who were martyred and 7 who were injured.
