One killed in clash over money owed in Madaripur
A clash between two parties took place in Rajoir, Madaripur over a dispute over money owed. It is learnt that a person named Rahim Sardar (45) was killed in the incident. The incident took place in front of Chunnu Fakir’s tea shop in Krishnapur village of Paikpara union of the upazila on Saturday (May 9) at around 7 pm. The deceased Rahim Sardar is the son of deceased Sohrab Sardar of Krishnapur village.
According to local sources, Rahim Sardar used to sell polao rice in a van in Dhaka. He had an argument with Asad Bepari (50) and his son Didar Bepari (30) of the same village over money owed. At one point, a clash broke out between the two parties. Rahim Sardar fell seriously ill. Later, locals rescued him and took him to the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead after examination. The body has been sent to the morgue of Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Rajoir Police Station OC Sheikh Aminul Islam said that the incident was mainly related to money transactions. The two were in business together. When the creditor Asad went to ask for money, at one point during the argument, a fight broke out between them and he punched Rahim. As a result, he died. A case is under process in this regard.
