One dies in fire at TCB warehouse in Chapainawabganj
A teenager named Nayan Ali (18) died in a fire at a warehouse of a TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) dealer in Nachal, Chapainawabganj. The tragic incident took place at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday (July 22) in the warehouse in Hatail area of Nachal upazila. The deceased Nayan Ali is the son of Abbas Ali of Hatbakil village of Nachal upazila.
Locals said that a fire broke out in the TCB dealer’s warehouse located on the ground floor of a two-storey building in Hatbakil area at around 8:30 pm. Nayan was an employee of the TCB dealer’s warehouse. He was burnt while trying to put out the fire. Meanwhile, on receiving information, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control after half an hour of effort.
Later, Nayan Ali’s body was recovered from the rubble. In this regard, Emdadul Haque, officer-in-charge of Nachal Fire and Civil Defense Police Station, said, “Initially, it is believed that the fire started from an electrical short circuit. TCB products worth about 1.5 lakh taka were damaged in the fire. In addition, products worth about 1 million taka have been recovered.”
