IRGC claims responsibility for Israeli chemical plant attack
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it launched a missile attack on a similar chemical plant in Haifa, Israel, in response to a ‘US-Israeli’ attack on a petrochemical facility in Iran.
In a statement, the IRGC said it was a retaliatory attack. The force also warned that further attacks targeting civilian or energy infrastructure in the future could have a negative impact on the global economy. The IRGC claimed that the US would bear responsibility if such a situation arose.
Israel did not immediately respond to the Iranian attack. Incidentally, Israel violated the ceasefire on Sunday (June 7) and launched a massive attack on the Lebanese capital Beirut. Tehran responded by firing missiles into northern Israel.
Following the attack on Israel on Sunday night, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement that it would no longer tolerate ceasefire violations. The missiles were fired as part of this. Israel retaliated today in response to the Iranian attack. Explosions were heard in several important cities in Iran. However, no casualties were reported.
