Initiatives taken to reopen closed factories in phases: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said that the current government has been instructed to reopen closed factories immediately after coming to power. He also said that initiatives have been taken to reopen factories that were closed in the past. He said that this will create employment for workers. If they are well, this country will also be well. The Prime Minister said this at a workers’ rally in Nayapaltan on the occasion of May Day on Friday (May 1) afternoon.
Tarique Rahman said that the previous dictatorial government not only took away the rights of workers, but also deprived everyone of political and economic rights. The entire country’s economy was made dependent on imports. At the same time, every sector of the country was destroyed. The fate of the workers was being played with. He also said that discussions have been held with foreign investors. Their government is being encouraged to set up factories in this country. If the working people are well, this country will also be well.
The Prime Minister said that the hawkers have been evicted due to the problems of the common people including traffic congestion, but considering the concerns of their families, the hawkers have been ordered to be rehabilitated. This government will provide employment to the hardworking people of the country. The hawkers will be rehabilitated in phases after determining the location. The Prime Minister alleged that a group is conspiring against Bangladesh in the World Court. She said, but it will not be of any use, the World Court knows that this government is elected by the people. We have to keep our eyes and ears open, we have to resist the conspirators in the same way we responded to tyranny, we have to be vigilant. At the end of the speech, the Prime Minister declared herself as an activist and said, ‘Come, let us build the country together.’
