The arrested Dabir is the son of Motaleb Molya of Juitara village in Magura Sadar Upazila Municipality area. It is learned that Tanvi Khatun, who is imprisoned in a drug case, was collecting this ganja through her husband to run a drug business inside the jail.
Magura District Jail Superintendent Mohiuddin Haider said that Dabir Molya came to the jail to meet his wife at around 11 am on Thursday. At that time, the prison guard Rafiqul Islam on duty at the RP gate searched him and recovered a packet of about 50 grams of ganja hidden in his jeans pocket. Later, when the matter was reported to the District Magistrate, the Executive Magistrate and members of the Narcotics Control Department appeared at the prison gate and conducted a mobile court. The court found Dabir Molly guilty and sentenced him to four months in prison. It is learnt that Dabir’s wife Tanvi was arrested by the police two days ago on charges of drug trafficking and is currently in jail. From jail, she tried to import ganja through her husband Dabir to continue her drug trafficking. During interrogation, Dabir Molly admitted that he tried to enter the prison with a packet of ganja for his wife.
