Husband and wife die of electrocution in Jhenaidah

A husband and wife died of electrocution in Jhenaidah. They died of electrocution while fanning paddy at their home at 6 am today, Monday (May 18). The deceased Mujibar Khan (60) is the younger son of the late Ter Ali Khan of Gaganna village in Holidhani union of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila and his wife Momena Begum (55).
Relatives said that this morning Mujibar Khan went to fan paddy at home with an electric fan. When he connected the power to the fan, it did not start, so he went to check the fan. At that time, he was electrocuted. The fan first fell on Mujibar’s chest and later his wife went to save him and died of electrocution. In addition, the death of the husband and wife has cast a shadow of grief in the area. Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station OC Md. Asaduzzaman said that a couple died of electrocution in Gaganna village of Holidhani union. A case of accidental death will be filed at the police station in this incident.
