Flood forecast in 5 districts
The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center has said that heavy to very heavy rains in different parts of the country may cause floods in five districts of the country. Among them, flooding has started in Moulvibazar and Netrokona. As the water level of the rivers in these districts rises, the remaining three districts of Habiganj, Sylhet and Sunamganj may also experience floods.
On Tuesday (April 28), the Meteorological Department had said in its forecast that heavy to very heavy rains may continue in different parts of eight divisions of the country until next Saturday.
Meanwhile, the water level of four rivers in the country is said to be flowing above the danger level. The rivers are Bhugai Kangsa, Manu, Someshwari and Mogra. Out of these, the remaining three rivers except Manu are flowing over Netrokona district. In addition, the water level of the Surma and Kushiyara rivers has increased by more than one to one and a half meters.
