Fire in Gazipur market, 17 shops burnt to ashes
A terrible fire broke out in a shirt-making market in the Chandana area of Gazipur metropolis. At least 17 shirt-making shops and shop goods were completely burnt down. The fire broke out around 4 am today, Sunday (September 14). Fire service and locals said that a fire broke out in a market built by Councilor Rafiq Tinshed in the Chandana area. At that time, locals tried to put out the fire and informed the fire service. On receiving the information, 2 units of Crossroads Modern Fire Service and 2 units of Joydebpur Fire Service reached the spot and brought the fire under control after an hour and a half of effort. Senior Station Officer of Crossroads Modern Fire Service of Gazipur Md. Iqbal Hasan said that on receiving the information, the service personnel reached the spot and managed to bring the fire under control after an hour and a half of effort. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. The extent of the damage will be known after the investigation.
