‘Experts from 4 countries invited to investigate cause of fire at Cargo Village’

Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that experts from England, Australia, China and Turkey have been invited to inspect the cause of the fire and security measures at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
He gave this information while talking to reporters after inspecting the cargo complex and e-gate damaged by the fire at the airport on Saturday (October 25) morning.
He said that 4 units inside the airport reached the spot within 30 seconds of the fire at the Cargo Village and the units outside reached within 20 minutes. We had hoped that the fire would be brought under control quickly. However, the fire spread due to chemicals and flammable materials. Therefore, it took time to bring it under control.
The Home Affairs Advisor also said that measures are being taken to open the e-gate of Shahjalal International Airport as soon as possible to prevent harassment of expatriates. Once it is launched, expatriates will be able to complete all their procedures at the airport without any hassle.
