Driver and helper killed after stone-laden truck overturns
Driver Anis (35) and helper Ratan (35) were killed when a stone-laden truck overturned in Kushtia. The accident occurred at around 8 am today (June 21) in the bypass area. The deceased truck driver Anis’s home is in Faridpur district and helper Ratan’s home is in Minapara area of Kushtia.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kushtia Highway Police Station Sekender Ali confirmed the matter. He said that the truck was going to Khulna from Sona Masjid, carrying stones. This morning, the truck lost control and overturned on the side of the road in the Kushtia bypass area. As a result, the truck caught fire.
Later, after informing the locals, the fire brigade arrived and brought the fire under control. At that time, the body of truck driver Anis was recovered. Helper Ratan was buried under the stones. OC Sekender Ali also said that the Fire Service and Highway Police are trying to recover his body.
