Child’s body recovered from pond two days after ransom demand
A child’s body was recovered from a pond in Feni two days after he went missing after demanding ransom. Police recovered the body from Amanullahpur area of Daganbhuiyan Municipality on Monday (May 11) morning. The deceased child is 18 months old. He is the son of Md. Tarek and Tarzina Akhter Nipu, residents of Kamalnagar in Lakshmipur district.
The child’s father Md. Tarek said that after Hasan went missing from his house on Saturday (May 9) morning, he received a call from 01927035603 in the evening. First, a ransom of 12,000 taka and later 1,20,000 taka was demanded. Otherwise, he was threatened with death. A written complaint was filed with Daganbhuiyan Police Station yesterday (May 10).
Daganbhuiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Faizul Azim said that the police recovered the body after receiving information this morning. The ransom demand was the work of a fraudster. After investigation, it was learned that the mobile number that made the threat was from Naogaon.
