Demand for trial of Dr. Taiyob Sikder for attempted murder of businessman
A businessman Md. Shah Alam Chowdhury has been accused of attempted murder by Dr. Taiyab Sikder in the Nasirabad Housing Society area of Chittagong city. He held a press conference alleging that the accused were not arrested even after a case was filed in this incident and that the accused continued to threaten him.

In a written statement at the press conference, Shah Alam Chowdhury said that on the evening of May 25, he was attacked in a planned manner while returning home by car after offering prayers at the Nasirabad Housing Society Central Mosque. When he reached the area adjacent to the Elegy Tower of the housing society, a rope pulled by Dr. Taiyab Sikder on the road got tangled around his neck. He fell out of the car and was seriously injured. He claimed that after the attack, locals rescued him and admitted him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Although a case was filed with the police station after the incident, the accused Dr. Taiyab Sikder has not been arrested yet. On the contrary, he alleged that the accused were pressuring him in various ways and threatening him with death to withdraw the case and compromise.

The victim further alleged that after the incident, some of the accused came to the spot and intimidated him. At one point, he claimed that he was threatened with “throwing away the body if he died.”
He demanded the speedy arrest of those involved in the incident, a fair investigation, exemplary punishment, and ensuring the safety of himself and his family. Local dignitaries, social workers, and locals present at the press conference called for bringing the real culprits to justice through a fair investigation of the incident.
