BNP MP’s son released on bail

The Detective Branch (DB) of the police has released Khairul Islam Sajeeb, son of Narayanganj-3 BNP MP Azharul Islam Mannan, who was arrested on charges of extortion.
Earlier, on Sunday (June 21) afternoon, the police arrested Khairul Islam Sajeeb from his house. Later, he was taken to the office of the Narayanganj Superintendent of Police. There, the police interrogated him. In the evening, a message sent from the police headquarters said that Sajeeb has been taken to the DB office of the DMP for further interrogation.
Meanwhile, Khairul Islam Sajeeb was the senior joint convener of the district Jubo Dal. However, he was expelled from all posts, including the primary membership of the Jubo Dal. In a statement, the organization said that the party will not take responsibility for any misdeeds of the expelled. Leaders and workers of all levels of the Jubo Dal were also instructed not to have organizational relations with him.
