BNP calls press conference in the afternoon

BNP has called a press conference in the ongoing political situation. The press conference will be held at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, the capital, at 3 pm today, Monday (October 3).
Earlier, a meeting of the National Standing Committee, the highest policy-making forum of BNP, is being held at 12:30 pm. BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman will preside over the meeting virtually. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said that a press conference will be held at 3 pm after the meeting.
It is learned that BNP may announce partial lists of MP candidates in more than a hundred constituencies before the 13th National Parliament election. After that, the party will announce the names of candidates in other constituencies step by step. To this end, BNP’s top leaders recently exchanged views with BNP nomination hopefuls in 300 constituencies across the country. A total of about 1,500 nomination hopefuls were present.
Now, although the names of partial MP candidates have been announced for over a hundred seats, they will have to pass an oral examination by the BNP parliamentary board. Party policymakers said that only after that will the final nominations be made.
