BGB-locals guard the border in Jamalpur amid fears of possible infiltration from India

Panic and anxiety have spread in the border villages of Jamalpur amid fears of possible infiltration from India. Hearing the news of miking late at night, many villagers gathered in the border area with sticks, sticks and household appliances. Locals claim that they are participating in surveillance with the BGB and are keeping a close eye on the situation.
Such a situation arose in several areas near the border, including Union No. 3 of Dewanganj Upazila, Uttar Rahimpur of Parrampur, late on Monday (June 8). Various videos circulating on social media show local residents staying alert in the border area to prevent possible infiltration.
Locals said that suspicion and anxiety arose among the villagers about the presence of several Indian vehicles and BSF members in the area adjacent to Pillar No. 1080 of the border opposite Uttar Rahimpur village. When the news spread, many people monitored the situation from the border area throughout the night.
In a video posted on social media, a local resident can be heard saying, “We came here after hearing the sound of the village microphone. We are standing near pillar number 1080. Indian vehicles are standing in front of our eyes. There are many BSF members here. Locals have also come here to cooperate with the BGB so that no infiltration occurs. As a common people, we are with the BGB. We are standing with all our might to protect the border. We are not afraid of the barrel of an Indian gun.” Meanwhile, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified special surveillance and patrolling in the border areas to prevent possible illegal infiltration, infiltration, drug trafficking and smuggling. In addition, the BGB is conducting additional patrols in various border areas of Dewanganj and Bakshiganj upazilas of the district. In this regard, Hasanur Rahman, Commander of Jamalpur 35 BGB Battalion, said that security measures have been further strengthened in the border areas under their responsibility. Although there is no current situation of concern, the BGB is on high alert to prevent any kind of illegal infiltration or attempted forced entry.
