Banned polythene recovered in Chandpur, fined Tk 70,000

A mobile court has seized banned polythene bags from a shop selling plastic products in Baburhat Bazar in Chandpur city. On Tuesday (July 21) afternoon, three shops in the market were searched and banned polythene bags were seized.
Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Environment Department and Deputy Commissioner’s Office of Chandpur, Nahid Iqbal, conducted the mobile court. At that time, a fine of Tk 20,000 was collected from businessman Mahbub, Tk 30,000 from Fakhruddin and Tk 20,000 from Md. Sabbir for selling banned polythene.
