Bangladeshi youth killed in BSF firing at Patgram border

A Bangladeshi youth named Sabuj Mia (30) was killed in firing by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at the Patgram border in Lalmonirhat. The incident took place on Thursday (December 4) morning at the Shamshernagar border of Jagatab Union of the upazila.
The deceased Sabuj Mia is the son of Sirajul Islam of Pachabhandar village of Jagatab Union. According to local residents and border sources, the incident took place this morning at a place called Shopping inside India, opposite the main pillar number 864/5 of the Shamshernagar border under Teesta Battalion-61 BGB.
Patgram Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident and said, “We have received reports of such an incident at the border. However, the BGB has not officially said anything yet. I have heard that a flag meeting may be held at the company commander level of BGB and BSF regarding this incident.”
