Assam flood death toll rises to 50

31 more people have died in severe floods in Assam, India. More than a hundred people are missing in this incident. As a result, the death toll in this season’s floods has risen to 50. More than 8 lakh people are under water in 16 districts of this northeastern region of India. Floods again hit three districts of the state bordering Nagaland on Wednesday (July 22).
Incessant rains have submerged miles and miles of land. Roads and houses have been submerged. At least 20 people, including two children, have drowned in the water in Sibsagar district alone. Authorities have said that a one-time financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh will be provided to the victims in Assam.
Unprecedented landslides have occurred due to incessant rains in Arunachal and Nagaland. Several rivers are flowing above the danger mark.
