Argentina coach wants to bring joy to Bangladesh
The distance from Bangladesh to Argentina by air is about 16,780 kilometers. But on the World Cup stage, that distance is much shorter. Whenever Argentina takes the field, countless Bangladeshi fans cheer for the Albiceleste.
This selfless support from Bangladesh has also impressed Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni. Before the semi-final against England, he said that his team will take the field with the aim of making Bangladeshi fans happy. Scaloni said, “I hope that today we can bring a result that will make them happy. That is our goal.”
Expressing gratitude to the Bangladeshi fans, the Argentine coach added, “The people of Bangladesh always surprise us. Even from such a distance, they support Argentina, which is really extraordinary. It is great to see people from other countries wearing the Argentina jersey outside their own country. Thank you for that.”
Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez also expressed his love for the Bangladeshi fans. “I love Bangladesh and the fans there,” he said. “They are crazy for us. I saw it myself when I went there. I think they are all Argentines in some way.” The comments by Scaloni and Martinez, ahead of the semi-final against England in Atlanta, have sparked renewed enthusiasm among Argentina fans in Bangladesh.
