Acting President pays tribute at National Memorial

Acting President Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram) has started his official journey to fulfill the highest constitutional duty of the state by paying deep respect to the martyrs of the great Liberation War by laying a wreath at the National Memorial.
Today, Sunday (July 26), as per the scheduled state program, he reached the National Memorial at around 11:30 am and first laid a wreath at the Shaheed Bedi. Later, he observed silence for a while and paid deep respect to the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the great Liberation War. At this time, a smart group of the three services gave the national salute and a mournful song was played on the bugle.
Later, he signed the visitors’ book kept in the memorial premises and participated in a special prayer organized for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs and the peace and prosperity of the country. This was his first official state program as acting president.
