No trust in US, Israel: Iranian Speaker
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibof has sharply criticized the US and Israel, saying there is no genuine goodwill to build trust between the two countries. He made the comments in a message on his Telegram channel. Ghalibof claimed that the prospects for long-term stability are being damaged due to repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement.
According to him, the ceasefire agreement on paper has become practically ineffective due to repeated violations in practice. In the Telegram, Ghalibof said that Iran will not choose the path of just war or just talks. He said, “We will not just fight, we will not just talk. We will fight in our own time and talk in our own time.”
Ghalibof also said that Iran’s goal is to end the war and establish lasting security. However, he also commented that Tehran does not trust its adversary. He highlighted the alleged US naval blockade and said that Iran wants to turn this pressure into a strategic failure for its adversary.
His statement made it clear that Iran will continue to resist on the one hand and continue diplomatic initiatives on the other, depending on the situation. However, he also indicated that it is not possible to rely solely on diplomacy without ensuring implementation.
