17th day of testimony in 7 murder cases including burning of 6 bodies in Ashulia
Today is the 17th day of testimony in 7 murder cases including burning of 6 bodies in Ashulia during the July-August movement.
Today, Wednesday (November 5), a three-member judicial panel led by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal-2, is scheduled to take testimony. Two people will be able to give testimony in this. Earlier, a total of 21 people, including the victim’s family and eyewitnesses, took testimony. There are 16 accused in this case, including former MP Saiful Islam. 8 of them are absconding.
It is worth noting that on August 21, ‘Tribunal-2’ ordered the initiation of trial by framing formal charges against 16 accused in this case. The charge sheet states that 6 people were killed on August 5 and their bodies were burned. However, one was alive at that time. Additionally, the accused have been charged with shooting dead a man in front of Ashulia police station on August 4.
