11 parties announce new 36-day program
The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party alliance has announced a new 36-day program from July 1 to August 5 to further accelerate the ongoing movement. Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad announced the program on behalf of the alliance at a press conference held at Jamaat’s central office in Moghbazar in the capital on Thursday (June 25).
Coordinator of the 11-party alliance, Hamidur Rahman Azad, said that BNP has made all arrangements to bring back the previous fascist-style one-party rule. He further alleged that the trial is being delayed by appointing party prosecutors in the tribunal.
He further said that the Awami League has established autocracy in this country instead of democracy. The Awami League has destroyed the country’s governance system and the rights of the people. It was informed at the press conference that this program has been taken to create public awareness about the July coup, form public opinion in favor of the implementation of the July Charter, and demand justice for the disappearances and murders committed during the previous government’s tenure.
The announced program includes organizing seminars in all districts and metropolises of the country from July 1 to 5. Painting exhibitions and graffiti drawing programs will be held on July 23, 24 and 25. In addition, a memorial meeting will be held at important places of the July Uprising and a protest rally will be held in all districts, upazilas and metropolises across the country on August 5.
