1 killed, 30 injured in clash between residents of two villages in Brahmanbaria over outstanding money

One person was killed in a clash between residents of two villages in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail district over outstanding money and dominance in the area. At least 30 people were injured in the incident. The clash took place in the Kalikachchh Bazar area from 8:45 pm to 11:45 pm on Sunday (June 28).
Locals said that there was a dispute between Mosharraf’s side of Suryakandi village and Khadim Mia’s side of Dharani village over the outstanding money to buy a fishing boat. In addition, there was a long-standing dispute between the two sides over dominance in the area. As a result, both sides got involved in a clash with country-made weapons.
At least 30 people from both sides were injured in the nearly three-hour-long clash. Khadim Mia was taken to the Upazila Health Complex in a seriously injured condition, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Police said that those involved in the clash will be identified and legal action will be taken against them.
