Suicide bomber kills 17 at police station in Pakistan

At least 17 people have been killed in a bomb blast at a police station in Pakistan. Several others were seriously injured in the incident. The attack took place in the Swat area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday evening (August 2).
Security forces believe it was a suicide attack. In addition to the suspected suicide bomber, there were several accomplices. Search operations and investigations are underway. A police official in Swat said that when the police stopped and searched a person while entering the police station, the person detonated an explosive device he was carrying. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued a statement expressing his grief over the incident.
Terrorist activity has increased in the border areas recently. The army and police are often targeted. The Pakistani government blames the Afghan Taliban for the deterioration of the situation.
