Farmer shot dead as he entered his house

A farmer named Momen Mia (55) was shot dead in the head and legs as he entered his house in Raipura, Narsingdi due to a previous dispute. Three others were injured in the incident. The incident took place on Sunday (August 2) morning in the Sadagorkandi area of ​​Chanpur union of the upazila.
The deceased Momen Mia is the son of the deceased Dhan Mia of the same village. The injured are – Mobarak (65), son of the deceased Khalek Mia, Nazmul Hossain (30), son of Shahid Mia, and Ruhul Amin (37), son of Quddus Mia. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Raipura Upazila Health Complex.
Relatives of the deceased and locals said that there was a long-standing dispute between the Farid Group and the Momen Chairman Group. The local MP also settled the dispute between the two parties. After that, the dispute started again between them. As a result, people from the Farid Group entered Momen’s house with country-made weapons and carried out an ambush on Sunday morning. At that time, Momen was shot in the head and leg. After being rescued and brought to the hospital in an injured condition, the doctors declared him dead.
Dr. Binita, a doctor at the emergency department of Raipura Upazila Health Complex, said that a person named Momen Mia was brought to the hospital in a bloody state. His pulse and pressure could not be found. It is believed that he died of blood loss before being brought to the hospital.
Raipura Police Station OC Mujibur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that a clash took place between two parties in the Sawdagarkandi area of ​​Chanpur. In this, a person named Momen Mia was shot and killed. In addition, several people were injured, including those who were shot. Additional police have been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.
