Chittagong Board HSC Exams Begin Today After Long Break

After being postponed for almost three weeks due to floods and adverse weather conditions, the remaining HSC and equivalent exams of the Chittagong Education Board are starting again from Monday (July 27). At the same time, the exams will be held in nine other General Education Boards, Madrasa Education Boards and Technical Education Boards as per the pre-scheduled schedule.
As per the exam routine, the exams for Civics and Good Governance First Paper, Biology (Theoretical) First Paper and Business Organization and Management First Paper will be held in nine General Education Boards from 10 am today. In addition, the exam for Food and Nutrition First Paper will be conducted in the afternoon.
On the other hand, the Alim exam of the Madrasa Education Board will be held in Islamic History, Physics Second Paper (Theoretical) and Tajweed Second Paper (Mujabbid Mahir Section). At the same time, the HSC (BMT) candidates of the Technical Education Board will take part in the exam for Human Resource Management-1.
Considering the overall situation in the flood-hit areas, the physical and mental condition of the students and the difficulties in road communication, all the remaining HSC and equivalent examinations of 2026 under the Chittagong Education Board were postponed on July 16 until further orders. In the same decision, the remaining subjects of the Alim, HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma in Commerce examinations were also postponed.
After the approval of the Ministry of Education as the situation improved, on Thursday (July 23), with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the Minister of Education and Primary and Mass Education, Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, announced that the postponed examinations of the Chittagong Education Board will resume from July 27. According to that decision, the candidates will now participate in the remaining examinations as per the existing regular routine. However, the examinations held before the suspension order was issued will be retaken as per the new schedule published later.
It is to be noted that the HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board were closed from July 8. However, at this time, the examinations were being conducted as per the previously announced schedule in all other general education boards, madrasa education boards and technical education boards of the country.
This year, the number of candidates registered for HSC and equivalent examinations in the nine general education boards, madrasa education boards and technical education boards of the country is 12 lakh 70 thousand 583. Out of this, 99 thousand 688 candidates are participating in 114 centers under the Chittagong Education Board. 9 thousand 439 educational institutions and 2 thousand 697 examination centers have been designated for this examination across the country.
