Israel has no interest in war with Iran: Smotrich

Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that Israel has no interest in directly engaging in the ongoing conflict with Iran, Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday (July 21).
“Israel has no interest in joining the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran at this moment,” he said at a conference in Yad Binyamin, central Israel. “The current situation is in our favor. So we have no desire to get involved. However, we are ready to deal with any situation.”
His comments came at a time when tensions in the Middle East surrounding Iran continue to rise and international concerns about a potential regional conflict are growing. However, the Israeli government has not officially commented on Smotrich’s statement.
