Youth commits suicide by posting on Facebook in Sunamganj

A youth named Mia Hossain committed suicide by posting on social media in Tahirpur, Sunamganj. On Monday (July 21), he committed suicide by hanging himself with an electric fan and a towel around his neck at his residence. Police recovered his body on Tuesday morning. The deceased Mia Hossain (25) is the son of Mr. Ali of Amayil village in Baradal Uttar union of the upazila.
According to local sources, he committed suicide by hanging himself with an electric fan and a towel around his neck at his residence on Monday night. His family members found him hanging on Tuesday morning. Later, people in the area rushed to the spot after hearing his screams. On receiving the information, Tahirpur police reached the spot, recovered the hanging body and prepared an autopsy report.
The deceased Mia Hossain made a post on his Facebook page at around 1 am, where he wrote, “No one is responsible for my death.” It is believed that he committed suicide after that. The deceased’s mother said that the suicide may have been due to family and mental stress. Tahirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farooq Ahmed said, “Permission has been granted to bury the body without an autopsy based on a written application as there is no complaint from the family.”
