Child dies of dengue fever in Mongla
A child named Ifa Akhter (2) has died of dengue fever in Mongla. She died while undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital on Sunday (July 19) morning.
Earlier, she was admitted to Mongla Upazila Health Complex on Saturday afternoon with dengue symptoms. Initial tests revealed that she had dengue. Later, she was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment in the evening. Ifa Akhter is the daughter of Shakil Talukder of Signal Tower area of Ward No. 9 of Mongla Municipality.
Mongla Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Shahin said that three more dengue patients were admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning. With this, a total of seven dengue patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital in the last 24 hours. He also said that on an average, 3 to 5 dengue patients are coming to the hospital for treatment every day.
