Jordan claims to have shot down four missiles fired from Iran

Jordan has claimed to have shot down four missiles fired from Iranian territory. The country’s military said the missiles entered Jordanian airspace. According to a report by Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera, the Jordanian army said its defense systems activated and detected and destroyed four missiles coming from Iran.
However, Jordanian military authorities did not provide any details on where the missiles were fired from or whether they caused any damage. The incident came amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran in the Middle East. Earlier, the regional security situation has become more heated due to mutual attacks by the two countries around the Strait of Hormuz.
Jordan had previously said that it would take necessary defensive measures to protect its airspace. The country, which borders Iraq, Syria and Israel, has long been wary of the impact of regional conflicts.
