The price of gold has decreased in the domestic market. This time, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of one bhori of gold by Tk 2,216. As a result, the price of 22-carat gold will be Tk 221,966. The organization announced this information in a notification on Monday (July 13) morning. The new price will be effective from 10 am today.
According to the new price, a bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold in the domestic market will be Tk 221,966 including VAT. In addition, the price of 21-carat bhori has been fixed at Tk 211,993, the price of 18-carat bhori at Tk 182,075 and the price of traditional gold per bhori has been fixed at Tk 148,774. The notification said that the price of pure gold has decreased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold including VAT has been fixed considering the overall situation.
BAJUS stated that this price will be effective in all jewelry establishments until further notification. However, wages will be applicable as per the design of the jewellery. Since VAT is attached to the selling price of gold and silver jewellery, VAT cannot be collected separately from the customers. Also, the previous rules of Bajus will remain in force for exchange and purchase of jewellery excluding fixed VAT, wages and stones.
