Iranian leaders who try to destroy Israel will face the same fate as Khamenei: Katz
During the long state funeral and mourning ceremony for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stern warning to the country’s current leadership. He claimed that any Iranian leader who proceeds with a plan to destroy Israel in the future will face the same fate.
In a statement on Monday (July 6), Israel Katz said, “If any Iranian leader tries to implement a plan to destroy Israel, he will be prevented.” He also claimed that Israel was the one who assassinated Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose funeral is currently being held. According to him, Khamenei initiated and led the plan to destroy Israel in Iran and the entire region.
Katz also referred to the recent joint US-Israeli strikes, saying that the strikes had removed an “immediate existential threat” facing Israel and severely damaged Iran’s strategic capabilities.
The Israeli defense minister also criticized the chants of “Death to Trump” by some who attended Khamenei’s funeral. He called the chants “shameful” and said they revealed the “true character” of the Ayatollah’s regime. However, there was no immediate response from Iran to the Israeli defense minister’s remarks.
