7 killed in Russian missile and drone strikes in Kiev
Russia has launched a new major attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiev with ballistic missiles and drones. At least seven people have been killed and 24 others injured in the attack. The attack took place early Monday (July 6), CNN reported.
Multiple explosions were heard in different parts of the city during the attack. Several high-rise residential buildings were damaged and fires broke out in various places. Rescue workers are working to rescue those trapped under the rubble. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said several residents, including children, had been safely rescued from the upper floors of a damaged building in the Podilskyi district.
It is believed that some people are still trapped inside the building. Air raid sirens sounded across the city during the attack, causing many residents to flee for safety. Hours earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing a new major attack. The deadly attack in Kiev came amid these fears.
