Driver dies in head-on collision between bus and pickup in Rajbari
A pickup driver was killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a pickup van in Kalukhali, Rajbari. The accident occurred at around 12:30 pm today, Wednesday (July 1), in the Khagjana area of the Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway.
Locals said that a pickup van going from Pangsha to Daulatdia collided head-on with a passenger bus of Chowdhury Deluxe Paribahan going from Rajbari to Kushtia. As a result, the pickup was twisted and the driver died on the spot. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and with the help of locals, recovered the body and took it to the Kalukhali Upazila Health Complex.
Kalukhali Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Israt Jahan Ummon said that the doctor on duty declared him dead after taking him to the hospital. Pangsha Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Sajjat confirmed the accident and said that the identity of the deceased driver is not yet known. Efforts are underway to identify him. Further legal proceedings are underway in this incident.
