IRGC issues stern warning to Israel

Ismail Qani, the head of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has warned Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon. Otherwise, he warned, there will be a repeat of Israel’s unconditional withdrawal from the country in 2000.
The country’s state media, Press TV, reported that in a message posted on social media, Qani said that if Israel continues its “aggression and occupation”, it will be forced to leave southern Lebanon “through humiliation and defeat”. “If you do not leave southern Lebanon on your own feet, history will repeat itself in 2000. The year you fled this land in humiliation. The decision is yours.”
Lebanon celebrates “Liberation Day” on May 25 every year. The day is celebrated to commemorate the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon in 2000, ending 22 years of occupation. Kani referenced that time to warn the occupying Israel.
