2 autorickshaw passengers killed in truck accident in Rajshahi

Two passengers of a CNG-powered autorickshaw were killed and four others injured when a truck hit them in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi. The accident occurred at around 9:30 am today (June 10) in the Kharail area of ​​Mohanpur upazila on the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway. The identity of one of the deceased has been identified.
His name is Abdullah Al Firoz (40). He is the cash in-charge of the Kesharhat branch of Islami Bank in Mohanpur upazila. His home is in Chak Shyamarai village of Manda upazila of Naogaon. His father’s name is Mohammad Ali. However, the identity of the other person, aged around 50, is not yet known. Four people, including an injured woman, have been admitted to the hospital.
Mohanpur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Modaswar Hossain Khan confirmed the identity of the deceased Firoz. He said that a person named Firoz died on the spot after being hit by a truck in the Kharail area of ​​Mohanpur upazila. Fire service personnel rescued the injured and took them to Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital, where doctors declared one more dead.
Senior Staff Nurse Md. Ujjwal, in-charge of the emergency department of RMC Hospital, said that the identities of the two deceased are yet to be known. Their bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue as unidentified. And the four injured have been admitted to ward number 8 of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Mohanpur Police Station SI Modaswar Hossain Khan said that all the deceased were passengers of the auto-rickshaw. The truck driver and the helper fled after the accident. He added that a case is being filed with the police station under the Road Transport Act in this regard.
