Gold prices have further decreased, how much is per bhori?
Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of 22-carat gold in the domestic market by Tk 6,591 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 2,22,782. BAJUS announced this in a notification on Wednesday (June 10). The new price will be effective from 10 am today.
The notification said that the decision to reduce the price was taken in a meeting of BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring due to the decrease in the price of pure gold.
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori in the domestic market has now been fixed at Tk 222,782. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at Tk 212,635, Tk 182,250 and the price of traditional gold per bhori has been fixed at Tk 148,424.
BAJUS also mentioned collecting the prescribed 5% VAT from buyers and depositing it in the government treasury and charging different wages according to the design of the jewelry.
