CBS News Report: Iranian Leaders Unable to Communicate with Supreme Leader

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently in a secret location under tight security. His communication with the outside world is very limited. This was reported by the US media CBS News. A report published on Sunday (May 24) quoted US intelligence sources as saying that he has to rely on a complex messaging system to reach Iran’s Supreme Leader.
According to US officials familiar with the matter, Iranian officials responsible for communicating with US President Donald Trump’s administration are also unable to communicate easily within their own government system. This is why the talks are being delayed. The report also said that when the US sends a proposal, the message takes a long time to reach the Supreme Leader and get a response from him.
CBS quoted two US officials as saying that very careful measures have been taken for the Supreme Leader’s security. Even many high-ranking officials in the Iranian government are not aware of his location and have no way of communicating directly.
