28 people hospitalized due to dengue infection across the country
No deaths due to dengue infection have been reported in the last 24 hours, while 28 people have been admitted to various hospitals across the country due to dengue infection. This information was given in a press release related to dengue from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Monday (May 18).
It said that among the patients admitted to hospitals with dengue in the last 24 hours, 11 are in Barisal Division (City Corporation), 10 are in Chittagong Division (outside City Corporation), one is in Dhaka North City Corporation, three are in Dhaka South City Corporation and three are in Sylhet Division (outside City Corporation).
In the last 24 hours, 45 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 2,790 patients have been discharged from hospitals. This year, a total of 2,931 people have been infected with dengue until May 18. Of these, 62.3 percent are men and 37.7 percent are women. No one has died of dengue in the last 24 hours. This year, five people have died from dengue.
From January 1 to December 31, 2025, a total of 1,02,861 people were infected with dengue and a total of 413 people died. From January 1 to December 31, 2024, a total of 1,1,214 people were infected with dengue and a total of 575 people died. From January 1 to December 31, 2023, a total of 1,705 people died from dengue, and a total of 3,21,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue.
